Seal Swimming – Get Up Close and Personal With Plett’s Playful Pups!

Join us for a unique, exhilarating experience – one that will get you up close and personal with one of South Africa’s friendliest and most fascinating creatures – the Cape Fur Seal. A must for anyone wishing to experience the best Plettenberg Bay has to offer!

Get kitted up on the beach before heading out on the open ocean. A scenic boat ride from Hobie Beach will take you out across Plettenberg Bay’s pristine waters to the Robberg Peninsula, where you’ll find a colony of over 6000 seals, swimming, playing and sunbathing on the rocks. You’ll observe them in an untapped, untouched setting – witnessing them interact and play, before you too get the chance to be one of the herd. Dive into the refreshing waters for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to observe, connect and interact with these friendly, playful creatures – all in their natural environment.

You’ll be led by our experienced guide, Ash and friendly skipper, Chris – with over 20 years of experience at sea between them. They’ll teach you how to interact with these gentle-natured, inquisitive creatures, as you watch them dive, play and show off their acrobatic skills.

TRULY ONE OF A KIND

This experience is truly unlike any other animal encounter in South Africa. No cages or distance will separate you from these animals – making it a fully immersive and interactive experience that will bring you right into the Cape Fur Seal’s natural habitat. Observe, interact and engage with the seals – you’ll find them as equally interested in you as you are in them!

Not only will you make memories to last a lifetime, but we’ll be there to capture them for you. Our team will take photos and videos of your trip that are FREE to download directly from our site.

Some of the friendliest, and most gentle-natured of all underwater mammals. Curious, and playful, they will show interest in you – swimming up to you, interacting, and showing off their natural acrobatic skills. One look into their eyes and you’ll form an incredible connection – bonding you to these creatures in a way that’s unique to any other animal encounter you’ll experience in South Africa.

The Cape Fur Seal colony at Robberg is home to over 6000 seals – one of South Africa’s largest. Watch them dart, dive and duck beneath the waves as they play and interact with each other – and you! Their sweet-natured temperament makes our Seal Swimming and Seal Viewing experiences safe and enjoyable for all ages.
